About Us

Cayuse Press began publishing literary zines online in early 1998 with The Horsethief's Journal. Later that year Letters From All Over, Cenotaph, and The Green Tricycle were added.

Publisher Barbara Benepe designed and edited all the zines for the first few years. An editorial staff gradually relieved the publisher of editing duties. Soon Mercury Books, Pocket Edition, The Book of Remembrance, Retrozine, and zEditions joined the Cayuse Press family of literary journals.

Present and past editors include Patricia L. Johnson, Paul Tylor, Penny Gerking, Diane M. Schuller, Tiffany A. Christian, Shawn M. Davis, and the late Marie Eyre. Their dedication and enthusiasm created an outstanding work environment.

It has been our delight and honor to publish contributors from around the world and to accept hundreds of awards for our publications.
